Title Phrenology
Authors Sybil Leek

Published

Collier-Macmillan
London, 1970

ISBN 75-113936
Pages 154
Description Written by occultist and "practising witch" Sybil Leek, this popularising
volume is typically one of the works which give Phrenology a bad name as
a "pseudo-science". The reader may at first be deceived by a quite correct
description of the history of the science; when it comes to the description
of faculties however, one can find whole pages which are unscrupulously
copied from earlier works by Wells, without
any acknowledgement or bibliographical reference, making the book a blatant
case of plagiarism. Further on, the author suggests the reader to set up
a commercial phrenological parlour and to start reading heads at $50 a
piece, thus taking the same way than the 19th century itinerant phrenologists
